Philip Michael Chircop, a native Maltese is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FIODS International Solidarity Foundation (International Federation Blood Donors in Paris). In 2007, Philip retired early from the Central Bank of Malta where he had worked since 1970, holding a number of positions during his job tenure. Philip has devoted a big part of his life to volunteer work and sits on a number of organisation’s board. In January 2008, he was elected Vice President of Malta Health Network and in 2007 he was appointed CEO of the International Solidarity Foundation. Since 2001 he serves as the honorary secretary and media officer for Malta Blood Donors Association. Since 2005, Philip has travelled to Dakar, Athens, Iceland, Monaco and other countries throughout Europe and Africa where he addresses participants at blood donor conferences. Most recently, Philip was appointed liaison officer for Malta Health Network to the EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy.
