Vida Augustinienė is President of the Lithuanian Diabetes Association since 1993 and was founder of the association in 1989. She is also Chief and founder of the Council of Representatives of Patients’ Organisations of Lithuania since 2002, a high-powered union of 26 patient organizations aiming for qualitative treatment and protection of patients’ rights. Vida is an active participant in the International Diabetes Federation movement and has authored five books on diabetes and nutrition. Vida has been an EPF board member since 2009.
