The EPF structure

EPF unites a wide range of disease-specific pan-European patient groups. Forty-two associations are currently members and membership has steadily increased since its creation.

EPF has membership criteria to ensure that its guiding principles of democracy, accountability, transparency and inclusion are maintained at all times. EPF membership also includes representative national patient umbrellas/platforms and builds its relationship with the whole range of health stakeholders operating at EU level and undertakes extensive representational work to promote the patients’ perspective.

EPF is administered by a Board which meets five times a year.

EPF Annual General Meeting meets on an annual basis to review the association’s achievements and to implement objectives for the upcoming year.

The adoption of EPF positions follows a strict, transparent and democratic consultation procedure.

EPF is registered in Luxembourg, but the offices are based in Brussels. We are in process of setting a branch in Belgium.
