Your feedback needed! EPF Roadmap on Patient Empowerment

We are pleased to share with you the draft Roadmap on Patient Empowerment, developed as part of the EPF thematic campaign on patient empowerment.

You will find attached an explanatory letter from EPF’s President, Marco Greco, and Secretary-General, Nicola Bedlington.

Why a Roadmap?

The Roadmap turns the principles developed in the Patient Empowerment Charter into a number of priority actions that need to be taken at different levels in order to apply the principles of patient empowerment in policy and practice. The two documents are intended as complementary tools for advocacy by patient representatives, but also by others.

The Roadmap is structured around eight priority action areas –based on the Charter and key recommendations from the EMPATHIE study (2014). Within each area, a number of specific actions are identified. In addition, we would like to include a “case study” or “fact box” under each action area to highlight one or two good examples of already-existing initiatives or successful practices that could be used as inspiration, shared or scaled-up.

Your feedback needed! (Deadline: 20 April 2016)

We would be delighted if you would give us some constructive feedback on this draft Roadmap to enable us to improve and refine it. We are aiming to launch the Roadmap at the concluding event of the EPF campaign in Brussels, in late June. We would ask you to treat the document as confidential for the time being as it is still in draft form.

We would very much welcome your feedback and ideas by 20 April 2016, after which we will revise the document.
