Invitation - EARIP Stakeholders' Workshop

Our member EFA (the European Federation of Allergy and Airway Diseases Patients' Associations) is happy to invite you to the EARIP stakeholder workshop entitled "We know how to curve down asthma in Europe: Lessons from national programmes".

Where? European Parliament in Brussels

When? Tuesday the 15th of September from 15h00 until 17h00.

What?

Currently in Europe, approximately 30 million people are living with asthma, and around 15,000 people die each year from asthma attacks. If no major breakthroughs in research and the management of asthma are made, between now and 2020, about 120,000 people in Europe will die as a result of asthma attacks, and 4 million will be hospitalized.

Through coordinated pan-European asthma research activities with world leading asthma researchers, the European Asthma Research and Innovation Partnership (EARIP) aims to reduce the number of asthma deaths and hospital admission rates, speed up the discovery of new treatments and improve the daily life of people affected by asthma.

This Stakeholder Workshop, hosted by MEP Catherine Stihler, has a twofold purpose; (1) To inform policy makers and the public of the EARIP project findings on national and regional asthma programmes in Europe, (2) To gain support in implementing the European Innovation Partnership as a mechanism for the realisation of better asthma management in Europe.

Registration

If you want to secure a place in this stakeholder workshop, please send me a confirmatory e-mail by next Friday the 28th of August.

Please find below the preliminary programme, which details more information on this event.
