Patient MedTech Dialogue Workshop - ‘How can community care ensure equal and broad patient access to medical technologies?’

On 25 May 2018, in the context of the Patient-MedTech Dialogue, EPF and MedTech Europe will organise a half a day workshop on community care and patient access to medical technologies.

The Council of the European Union adopted in December 2017 Council conclusions on ‘Enhancing Community-Based Support and Care for Independent Living’. The overall message is clear: steps towards the acceleration of the transition from institutional to community-based care need to be taken.

The workshop will aim to explore how community care can ensure equal and broad access for patients, bringing continuity to the workshop which took place last year on EPF’s Access to Healthcare Campaign. Participants will discuss how community care can support improved access to medical technologies and how medical technologies can facilitate care in the community, identifying success factors to making community care work.
