Get breathless for Pulmonary Hypertension

EPF approved several new membership requests at our Annual General Meeting on 22 May. Amongst them, we welcomed the European umbrella organisation for Pulmonary Hypertension (PHA Europe) as a full member. On 5 May they celebrated the world PH Day with the campaign “Get Breathless for PH”.High blood pressure in the lungs is called pulmonary hypertension (PH) or pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). PAH is a chronic and life-changing disease that can lead to right heart failure if left untreated.

The first world Pulmonary Hypertension Day was held in 2012. The recognition and declaration of a World Pulmonary Hypertension Day is a step forward in the consolidation of a worldwide PH awareness.

PHA Europe works together with its members to enhance awareness of pulmonary hypertension across Europe. They aim at promoting optimal standards of care for people living with the disease, ensuring the availability of all approved treatments, and encouraging research for new medicines and therapies.

You can join their efforts to raise awareness about PH. Whether you add your photo to the mosaic, raise awareness online, or share your story with the media, you can get involved.
