WORKSHOP: Digital Tools for Patient Empowerment and Person-Centred Care - best practices that boost cooperation between patients and healthcare professionals

On 5 October 2020 from 14:00 – 17:00 CET and on 6 October from 9:30 – 13:00 CET, EPF will host a two-day multi-stakeholder online workshop on Digital Tools for Patient Empowerment and Person-Centred Care. The workshop will be a mix of plenary and breakout sessions so that all participants can contribute their views and shape the discussion.

Over the course of two days, the workshop will engage patient leaders and other health stakeholders with an interest in digital tools that have a potential to boost patient empowerment and  person-centred care, and will foster collaboration between patients and healthcare professionals.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP WILL BE:

  • Discuss the preliminary results and key recommendations of an empowerment roadmap currently being drafted in DigitalHealthEurope,
  • Bring together digital solutions experts and developers, patient representatives, healthcare professionals, policy makers and industry representatives to validate the in-depth-analyses developed by EPF,
  • Further identify barriers and enablers related to the procurement, adoption, trust and integration of the identified digital solutions and empowerment roadmap recommendations.

At the workshop, the central recommendations listed in the empowerment roadmap to engage more patients and caregivers in large-scale healthcare ecosystems will be put forward and constructive feedback and perspectives will be collected from the audience.

The insights generated at the workshop will build on the expertise of the participants to inform the empowerment roadmap and plan for the white paper.
