Lucia Feito Allonca

Board Member

Lucía Feito Allonca is a lawyer and global health advocate with more than 30 years of lived experience with type 1 diabetes. She specializes in patient rights and person-centred care, working to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through a combination of legal expertise and training in psychology.

She has served as a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO), contributing to the co-creation of webinars and facilitating sessions with international non-governmental organizations. She is also listed in the WHO stakeholder registry for diabetes-related meetings and initiatives.

Lucía is a Commissioner of The Lancet Global Health Commission on People-Centred Care for Universal Health Coverage, where she contributes to shaping more equitable and inclusive health systems globally. In addition, she is a co-founder of VIA Diabetes, a Blue Circle Voice for the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), and a member of the global advisory committee Our Views, Our Voices.

Her work is grounded in social justice, equity, and inclusion, enriched by her multicultural identity and LGBTIQ+ perspective.
