Anita Arsovska

Anita Arsovska is Vice-President of Stroke Alliance for Europe (SAFE), an umbrella organization, representing a range of patient groups with stroke, from more than 30 European countries. SAFE’s goal is to decrease the number of strokes in Europe by advocating for better prevention, access to adequate treatment, post-stroke care and rehabilitation.  

Anita is a neurologist, Head of Department for Urgent Neurology at the University Clinic of Neurology and professor of neurology at the medical faculty (University Ss Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, North Macedonia). She is one of the co-founders of the Macedonian organization for a fight against stroke- a stroke support organization, an active member of SAFE and has been a board member of SAFE for the past three years.

Together with her colleagues and stroke survivors, she has organized many public activities for raising stroke awareness (campaigns, interviews, articles, lectures etc). Since 2012 she has been actively involved in organizing and promoting public activities on the occasion of World Stroke Day, supporting the World Stroke Campaign and European Stroke Day, respectively. She is committed to quality improvement in stroke practice, and establishment of a continued monitoring of stroke care.
