Robert Hejzák

Robert Hejzák was elected to the Board of the European Patients’ Forum (EPF) in May 2025.

He is a long-standing patient advocate and public health leader with over 20 years of experience in the fields of HIV, human rights, and patient engagement. He currently serves as Chair of the Czech National Association of Patient Organisations (NAPO), where he works to strengthen the role of patients in shaping health policies at both national and European levels. Under his leadership, NAPO has become a recognised platform for cross-disease collaboration and a key contributor to EU health initiatives.

Robert previously led the Czech AIDS Help Society, one of the country’s leading organisations supporting people living with HIV. He has played a central role in campaigns aimed at reducing stigma, improving access to care and testing, and promoting inclusive, evidence-based health policies.

He is a member of several international networks, including the Steering Committee of AIDS Action Europe (AAE) and the European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG). As an alumnus of the European Patients’ Academy (EUPATI), he actively promotes patient education and currently represents EPF on EUPATI’s Board of Trustees.

Robert holds academic degrees in economics and social sciences from the University of Economics in Prague, the College of Europe in Belgium, and the International University of Japan.
